RIP Joe Pirozzi

Celebrating the life of our friend and colleague, Joe Pirozzi!

Joe left us on the morning of September 14th after battling cancer. He was more than just a colleague to many of us, but a true friend.  He was as a man of integrity, compassion, kindness, and wisdom. He worked hard and played hard with many of his good friends acquired through our industry. He was an icon in the industry, and will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Joe had over 40 years experience with the railroads, starting with the SP, then Sealand, and then moving to CSX, where he retired in 2012 as Business Director of Development.

Joe has been a member of The Traffic Club of New York since 1982.  He joined the Board of Directors in 1990 and quickly moved up the ranks to serve as our President in 1993, Chairman of the Board in 1994, and Chairman of the Annual Dinner from 2007 to 2015. He has also served on various other committees through the years.  In 1998, he was honored as our Ficken Award recipient,  given for untiring support, able leadership, and positive contributions of time and talent to TCNY over many years.  He served as our Secretary / Treasurer from 2014 and continued in that role until his passing. He was an invaluable member and contributor to the Club.

While Joe has left this earth, he will live forever in our hearts and minds, and our memories.

A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, or to Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Rd, Ste C, York, PA 17402.

Rest in Peace Joe P – We love you!
